Ep. 1 Chris Porco

Our first episode had to start with the 518's most famous winemaker, Joseph Carr.  For more information on Joe's life and wine, visit www.josephcarrwine.com.  We had never had today's wine: 2021 Josh Legacy.  A red blend from California is available at our local wine store for around $14.  Carr wines are famous, and some people may feel they are for "Basic Bitches”.  But you must admit those "BBs" know good wine (and a good travel mug) when they see it!!   For those of you in this for the wine reviews, we put this through our trusted aerator twice and left it in the decanter for an hour before drinking.

Let's get to this: The 2004 murder of Peter Porco by his son, Chris.  Jessica has been glued to her TV for any press coverage for 20 years, while Nick was utterly unaware of the murder until a few years ago.  Back in 2004, the quaint hamlet of Delmar was rocked by the murder of Peter, a law clerk to the Chief Judge of the Appellate Court in Albany, New York.  The press coverage locally in the 518 at the time was all-consuming.  For more details, please check out the following news articles we referenced: https://www.timesunion.com/porco/.  This murder also caught the eye of movie producers, and a Lifetime movie was made called "Romeo Killer: The Chris Porco Story," which is a fictional portrayal of the murders and the aftermath.   Local TV reporter John Gray had an exclusive interview with Chris from prison about a year ago, which you can find here: https://youtu.be/QK_5DMwS20Y

Chris is eligible for release in 2052. Maybe there will be another paperwork error, and he will get out sooner, but we hope not!

Our first episode is dedicated to Paul Silver. Paul, your love of your family, dogs, and a great cup of coffee will never be forgotten. Thank you for your counsel and your friendship.
