1000 Stories: What happened to Colin Gillis?
Colin Gillis had just turned 18 when he went missing in 2012 from the small Adirondack town of Tupper Lake. Home on spring break from SUNY Brockport, the aspiring doctor was excited to meet up with friends.
We may never know what happened to Colin, but a series of unusual events led us to today: 12 years later, with more questions than answers. His family and friends all wonder what really happened that cold winter night.

Colin was last seen wearing a men’s size medium short-sleeved American Eagle V-neck shirt with black stripes, size 32/34 blue boot-cut Levi jeans, and size 10 red high-top Nike Air sneakers. He was carrying an orange L.L. Bean backpack containing a reversible black and red L.L. Bean coat. A $25,000 reward is offered in his case.
